This may sound far fetched but I honestly think that if your doing a portrait of a musician it helps to listen to some of their music to help get you in the right mind set and establish a feel for the best route to take while drawing, painting or sculpting the musician. I had fun with this one and ole BB King has some pretty good music.
You are damn right, man. When I painted my BB King portrait I did the same thing. Just found a playlist and played. Love the piece, very nice work with the skin texture and excellent work on the guitar.
